Using Social Media to Promote Your Real Estate Business

Social media is a free tool that every real estate agent should learn to master as it is one of the most effective ways to connect with your existing and potential real estate clients/vendors.

Not only is it free, but it is one of the best ways to organically grow your audience through content creation and brand awareness which leads to inquiries about your service from potential real estate clients.

There are several major social media platforms that are great for real estate agents (and real estate photographers), but the most frequently used by the real estate industry are Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Houzz and YouTube.

Facebook

Having more than almost two billion users, makes Facebook the most popular social media platform and one of the most visited websites in the world.

It gives you as a real estate agent, the ability to connect with your chosen demographic through paid advertising, however it is also great for organic growth through people liking and sharing your posts with their network.

The paid promotion feature can creative an effective part of your sales funnel to acquire new clients in your local area and boost visitors to your website.  Spend time searching and joining the many real estate and community groups in your local area.

Instagram

Instagram is an image-based social media platform that works well for people in the real estate industry. This can be a great tool to promote your project, listings and daily life, without overselling yourself.

Twitter

Having a Twitter account is a great tool for connecting with business and influencers. Twitter is very different from other social platforms since you are restricted to 140 characters. This brevity makes it appealing to millions of its users.

Use Twitter to promoteyour work and link up your blog post or post photos from your recent projects. Follow people in your local community and connect and network with people from your industry. Twitter is all about community, so connect, tweet, and retweet content to get the most out of this platform.

LinkedIn

When it comes to professional networking online, LinkedIn is the top platform — not Twitter, and not even Facebook. It has fewer members than Facebook with around five-hundred million users worldwide, but the platform provides a robust marketing and engagement system featuring group discussion boards, private messaging and blogging.

Pinterest

The best way to use Pinterest is to ‘pin’ your work to boards that you have created on your profile and then link these images to your website. Make sure that you create appropriately named boards that relate to your work, such as ‘Bathrooms’, ‘Kitchens’, ‘Exteriors’, etc.

YouTube

If you are using video to advertise and promote your listings, you should have a YouTube channel to host this content. It is also a great method of promoting your work and connecting with your clients and target market by following their channels and staying up to date.

You can also integrate the above social media platforms into your real estate marketing campaigns through paid advertising to further promote your real estate listings.
